About Jon

I have been working with computer software and hardware for well over 15 years. I started with building kit computers as a kid. I then moved on to repairs of personal and business systems in the mid 90's. Having worked on various major computer systems I bring unique talent not found with many technicians.

I'm a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Citrix Certified Associate, and a professional technician. I have experience in computer technician skills, Windows XP, Windows 95/98, Dos, TCP/IP (networks), Technical Support, Computer Forensics, Network Security, Office, and Windows NT/2000/2003 Server.

While many will call themselves a "tech" after building a handful of computers or installing Windows a few times. I have proved it thousands of times over by supporting computer networks and systems for personal and small businesses, teaching other techs the business and maintaining happy customers.

Short Bio...

1996-2000:
I became a Network Administrator for a Utah based Real-Estate company. Their infrastructure consisted of 15 servers more than 175 Windows 9x desktop/laptops and had 13 different sites. During my time there I performed all IT functions including data center management, technical support, disaster recovery planning, and managed inventory of technical assets valued at up to $200,000.

2000-2006:
I became the Systems Engineer for an Idaho based Asphalt Company. Their Infrastructure consisted of 25 servers and more than 150 Windows XP professional desktop/laptops. During my time there I analyzed and resolved infrastructure connectivity issues, provided technical support, and disaster recovery planning. Most of my time was spent on improving productivity and reducing costs through improved uses of technology. Consolidating their network, implementing a helpdesk system, forming an IT Steering committee, and managing the inventory of technical assets valued at up to $500,000 were some of my key accomplishments.

2006-2008:
I became a Systems Administrator for one of the world's largest and most comprehensive drug development services companies. Working out of Reno, Nevada, I was tasked with supporting and maintaining the server and desk side environment along with their telephony system. Their Infrastructure consisted of 58 servers and more than 180 Windows XP professional desktop/laptops. During my time there I provided incident ownership for infrastructure related failures at Group 2 sites. Maintained disaster recovery plans, validated new standard images for workstations and servers, and resolved connectivity issues for enterprise applications. The inventory of technical assets I managed was valued at up to $900,000.

2008-Present Day:
Now in Saratoga Springs I offer On-Site Computer Repairs to both home users and businesses. Offering my customers Great Service from a Technician with a skill set not found with most other Technicians.

Unlike many "techs" I am a licensed business.
Please make sure you ask what you get for your money before having somebody come to your home or office to work on your equipment.

Ask if they offer a written warranty? How many years have they been fixing computers systems? Do they make their living fixing computers or is it just a hobby?

Many times I get calls that start with...
"well I had this guy come and try to fix my system but..."

Also ask if they are a Utah based business. There is a growing trend for national companies to run local ads for computer repair. After you call these companies and setup a repair they look in listings for local techs and then sub contract the work out. Many times not even asking what kind of experience the tech has. Make sure your dealing with a local company and save yourself some headaches in the future.

Please ask questions before having somebody come to your home or office. There is no need to pay for the same repair twice when it's done right the first time.
